Founded in 1814, WÜSTHOF Knives has developed a tradition of excellence and innovation in cutting tools. A family company to the core, WÜSTHOF is now in its seventh generation of ownership under the guiding hand of Harold Wüsthof. Also staying true to their roots, each WÜSTHOF knife is made in Solingen Germany, a tradition that other major knife companies have found difficult to uphold in an era when most manufacturing is now based in Asia.

Unlike many knife makers, in over 200 years of history we have not succumbed to the temptation of manufacturing outside of our hometown in Solingen, Germany. There is a simple reason for this: we value the heritage and identity of a place known for centuries as “The City of Blades." We believe that quality knives can only be made where high-precision production meets traditional craftsmanship.
